David Lee Dykstra was born on July 30th, 1982, in Pomona, California to Harold and Janice Dykstra.
Following attending Don Antonio Lugo High School in Chino, Ca from 1997-2000, he joined his father Harold as a carpenter for a couple years. Later, he briefly worked at EL & EL Wood Products in Chino, Ca. Shortly afterward he began his work as an epoxy floor installer. At one point, during slow periods of work, he assisted James and Gigi in geophysical exploration, primarily active seismic and electrical resistivity surveys, to assist in the location of domestic water wells. His primary trade was an Epoxy Installer. Initially with Premier Epoxy Coatings, next with T&D Epoxy Coatings, and finally Superior Systems of Temecula, Ca.
David enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including: Hiking/Exploration, Rockhounding, Camping, Firearms (from black powder to modern), Gardening, Off-grid preparations, Automotive repair, among other things. His work brought him throughout the state of California, and he would always find somewhere to explore en route. Hot springs, waterfalls, and historical sites were his primary interest but as long as it was somewhere away from the sprawling cities often that would suffice.
He is survived by Father Harold Dykstra, Brother Michael Ray Dykstra, Grandparents Mike and Grace Dykstra, Great Aunts Audrey Ramak and Teresa Dykstra, Great Uncle Wilbur Dykstra, Aunts (in alphabetical order) Charlene Stewart, Geraldine Anderson, Gracie Snapper, Jessica Behzadi, Teresa Vandever, and Vivian Ware.
