It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Cor Verkaik, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Cor was born in Stolwijk, Netherlands on January 11, 1931, to Jan and Willemijntje Verkaik. He was the youngest brother to Nees, Arie, and Jan, and he had one younger sister, Willie.
In 1951, he met the love of his life, Nellie, while at a dance hall. They were married on August 16, 1951, and shortly after, they welcomed their first son, Leendert (Leo). In 1958, they immigrated to the United States and settled in southern California. In 1960, they welcomed their daughter, Wilma.
Cor was in the cow business for most of his life. He started off milking cows for his brother in Corona, then he began a milk testing business in Chino, and after that, he started his own heifer business in Ontario. He loved animals and took great pride in running and owning his business with his wife. Cor will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for his joking and playful attitude.
Cor is survived by his wife of 73 years, Nellie Verkaik, his daughter Wilma Lekkerkerk, his 6 remaining grandchildren, and his 12 great grandchildren.
