She was born November 19, 1928 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Mae (MacClintock) Roman. She was married to James K. Perry on April 18, 1959 at the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta. He predeceased her on November 9, 1983.
She is survived by a brother, William G. Roman of Jacksonville, Arkansas; several nieces, a nephew, great nieces/nephews, great-great nieces/nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine T. Polizzi and a sister-in-law, Maria Roman.
Wanda graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1946, and commenced employment with Wilber National Bank on July 1, 1946, retiring as Trust Officer on June 1, 1993, after forty-seven years of service.
She was active in several organizations: NYS Bankers Association Group V., Capital District; National Association of Bank Women; Laurens Village Cemetery Board; Laurens Presbyterian Church; Laurens Village beautification association; Laurens Chapter #518, Order of the Eastern Star; Family Service Association of Oneonta; Oneonta Family YMCA where she served as the first woman Trustee; Oneonta Business Woman’s Club; March of Dimes of Otsego County, where she served as Treasurer; Salvation Army of Oneonta Executive Board; Ladies Auxiliary Brotherhood of RR Trainmen; Laurens Central School where she acted as voluntary auditor; A.O. Fox Hospital, foundation board; A.O. Fox Hospital Auxiliary volunteer; Hartwick College, Citizens Board, Executive Council; and she was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneonta.
Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Laurens Presbyterian Church with the CLP Judy Gage presiding. Friends may greet the family at 1:00 PM until service time.
It is suggested memorial gifts may be directed to the Laurens Presbyterian Church, Family Service Association of Oneonta or the charity of one’s choice.
Refreshments will be served at the Church by the Presbyterian Women following burial in the Perry Lot of the Laurens Village Cemetery.
