He was the son of Julius and Mary (Molinari) Speranzi. He was born at home on Brookside Avenue on February 3rd, 1932. Tom attended St Mary’s school and a graduate of Oneonta High school, class of 1950.
After his senior year of high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1951-1954 and spent one year in Korea with the 1st Marine Division, 4.5” Rocket Battery.
Returning home, he married his high School sweetheart, Grace Baranowski on February 28th, 1954 and started raising a family. He worked for the Department of Transportation for 37 ½ years, Andy & Gays Restaurant for 25 years, and other many part time jobs to help support his family.
Years later he joined Fox Links gym and worked out and swam seven days a week until COVID 2020. He was always happy chatting with the members, sometimes wearing funny outfits or socks. He made many friends and enjoyed his time there. He loved watching old reruns on TV or anything else that was on and loved to tease and kid everybody. Most importantly he loved his family. He played a serious game of racket ball in his day, playing up into his 70s, and was extremely good at the game.
