Thomas K. Eggers

Thomas was born on May 29, 1944 in Astoria, Queens, the son of the late Joseph and Ann (Berrell) Eggers. Thomas married Sara DiBlasi on February 27th, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY .

He was a meat cutter for over 30 years, working for Larry’s Custom Meats in Hartwick as well as other stores. He started his career in New York City, later moving to Long Island and then the Laurens area where he retired in 2012.

He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Laurens. He loved to talk about politics, was a fan of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. He was an animal lover. Mostly, he loved his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sara Eggers of Laurens, his son, Eric Eggers of Bixby, Oklahoma and his daughter, Stacey Eggers of Laurens.

He is also survived by his granddaughters, Samantha, Sydney and Erin Eggers; his great grandson, Kendrick Deckard; a special cousin, Jimmy McIntyre and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Lutheran Church of Atonement, 1 Center Street, Oneonta with Reverend Paul Messner, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Laurens Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta at which time the family will be in attendance.
