Teresa “Tessie” Dopazo Lanio y Alonso, was born on December 27, 1924 in Havana, Cuba and a graduate of the Colegio de las Ursulinas. She married Jorge F. Dopazo, on December 18, 1947. The couple came to the United States in 1961, and settled in New York with their children, Jorge, Teresita and Patricia. Tessie worked as Supervisor of the Dodge Reports division of McGraw-Hill publishing company in New York City. She loved nature, taking rides in the country and fishing – every dog was her best friend. Tessie was a free spirit, fiercely independent, resourceful, hard working and fun loving - her table was the center of family gatherings. She was ever curious and never stopped learning. Tessie could light up a room with her bright blues eyes and eager smile. The world is a bit dimmer for her passing. We will miss her deeply.
Tessie is survived by her children, Jorge R. Dopazo and his wife, Donna, Teresita Dopazo Cronin and her husband, Michael and Patricia Dopazo and her husband, Thomas Bartodziej; grandchildren, Jordana Upton and her husband, Simon, Michael Dopazo, Katie Dopazo, Michael Cronin and his wife, Crystal, Patricia Cronin, Brian Cronin and Cassandra Cronin, John Bartodziej and Kristin Paige and her husband, Mark; great grandchildren, Charlotte, Tristan, Zane and Tyler; brother, Ricardo Lanio and his wife Olga; and nephews, Danny, Ricardo, Victor, Alex, Francis and their spouses and children; sister-in-law, Ela Dopazo; and nieces, Ela Troyano and Alina Troyano.
