Ronald Charles Barrett

He was born June 8, 1938 in Schenevus the son of the late Harold and Lena (Breffle) Barrett.

Ron married Mabel MacLeod on September 28, 1963 in Orwell, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Ron faithfully and honorably served and retired from the United States Navy on November 1, 1985. He served three years in the U. S. Army before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, Ron devoted his career in Aviation Electronics for helicopters and technology research.

He was a very talented musician being able to play piano and all string instruments. He enjoyed retoring violins, antiques, and art. But what brought Ron the most joy was his family. He always looked forward to the family gatherings and having everyone close to him.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Mabel Barrett, Maryland; four children, Diane and Tim Winton, New Berlin, Carol and Steven Brower, Maryland, Debbie and Julian Votee, Georgia and Douglas and Tammy Barrett, Oneonta; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Yvonne and Francis Yager, Guilford; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Milford Center Cemetery, located in Milford Center with the Rev. Al Bullard officiating.
