He was born on January 8, 1945 in Oneonta the son of the late Harry and Marie (Cook) Yager.
On March 17, 1984, Robert married Hope Gauthier in Oneonta.
Bob was an electric truck driver for Amphenol Corp. in Sidney for 32 years.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors whether it was camping, fishing, hunting, boating or riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed tractors and playing guitar. Bob was also a history buff. But most of all, Bob loved spending time with his family.
Bob was a member of the Laurens Masonic Lodge.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Hope Yager of Goodyear Lake; six children, Cheryl Ganz of Ohio, Cindy Yager of Ohio, Lori and Joe Hollenbeck of Goodyear Lake, Blaine and Liz Banhart of Oneonta, Frank and Brenna Ravis of Queens and Chris and Toni Ravis of Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; as well several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandson, Anthony Banhart; twin brother, Royce Yager; and sister, Lois Hunsucker.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Reverend Paul Messner Pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, Oneonta officiating. Burial will be held in the spring in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Laurens Masonic Lodge, Main Street, Laurens, New York 13796.
