Pat was born on January 27, 1935 in Carbondale, PA, the son of the late Donald and Helen (McGlynn) Healey. He married Ruth Brophy on July 25, 1959 in Carbondale.
Pat worked as a purchasing manager for MAMCO of Oneonta, retiring in 1997. He served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church.
He was an avid golfer, and will always be remembered as a people person. He enjoyed the outdoors, and the special time spent with his grandchildren and family.
Pat is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Healey of Oneonta; his children, Jeffrey Healey and his wife, Yuko of Maui, HI, Patrick Healey and his wife, Kathleen of Cumberland, RI, Karen Smith and her husband, Jeff of Oneonta, Cindy Healey of Oneonta; his grandchildren, Sarah Gutierrez and her husband, Ramon, Jeffrey Healey, Patrick & Elizabeth Healey, Jade Healey, Ryan Smith and Alexi McAdams.
He is also survived by his brothers, Don Healey and his wife, Shirley of Rochester, Tom Healey and his wife, Trudy of Portsmouth, VA, Jim Healey and his wife, Ellen of Syracuse; his sister, Roberta Troutt and her husband, Wayne of Pueblo West, CO; brothers-in-law, Siro J. Vergari of Oneonta and Joseph L. Piwowarski of Mayfield, PA; sisters-in-law, Betty Wilner of Scotch Plains, NJ, Barbara Brophy of Dixon City, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Rosemarie Sorger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in St. Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta with Rev. Bernard Ampong, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta at which time the family will be in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pat’s memory to the Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the ER and 4th floor at Bassett Hospital, as well as the Catskill Area Hospice staff who cared for him in his final days.
