She was born in Brooklyn on August 11, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Gioe) Rappa. She married Paul DiBlasi on September 4, 1948, and he predeceased her on July 27, 1990.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church.
Mildred was homemaker, an avid cook, and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sara Eggers, and her husband, Tom of Laurens, and Rosemary Pepe and her husband Anthony of Stratford, CT; her grandchildren, Eric and Stacey Eggers, Shawn McLaughlin, Melissa Lembo, and Andrea Pepe; her great grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, and Erin Eggers, Peter, Frank, and Charles Lembo, Paul, Sean, and Michael McLaughlin, and a great great grandson, Kendrick Decker.
She is also survived by two sisters, Marie Mangini of New Jersey and Frances Rappa of Brooklyn.
She was predeceased by a brother, Mario Rappa.
A funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Oneonta with the Rev. Scott Vanderveer, associated pastor, officiating. Burial will be later in the spring in the Laurens Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta.
