She was born on July 10, 1944 in Queens, NY, the daughter of Benjamin and Theresa O’Hara.
After graduating from Jamaica Vocational High School in 1962, Mary started her 30 year career with New York Telephone.
Mary married Frank A. Lipari on November 18, 1967. Together, they raised 2 children, Anna and Frank.
In September of 1980, Frank and Mary moved their family upstate to Wells Bridge where they owned and operated the Wells Bridge General Store for 9 years.
Mary was a natural caregiver. Her care extended beyond her own children. After retiring from the phone company, she worked briefly for the Brookwood School in Cooperstown, then as a nanny – first for Elise, then for the Mooney girls, Molly, Kelley, and Reilly. She loved all the children cared for as if they were her own.
Mary’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She enjoyed feeding the ducks by the lake with William and Katelyn, playing board games with Dominic, and coloring with Benjamin.
Mary is survived by Frank, her loving husband of 49 years; her daughter Anna and her companion, Pete; her son Frank and his fiancé, Jessie; four grandchildren, William Lipari, Katelyn Sims and her wife Samantha, and Dominic and Benjamin Lipari; 3 sisters, Carol Juschkus and her husband Ray, Corine Lavin and her husband John, and Theresa Ledek and her husband Bob; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
