Jim moved his family to Treadwell in 1975. He was proud how his family grew and he took his job as dad and grandpa seriously. He showed up without question and was viewed as a father figure to more than he knew.
He was an active member of the Treadwell Community, most notably for his 42 years with the Treadwell Fire Department serving 16 of those years as Fire Chief. He also served as the Treadwell water commissioner and was once the Treadwell little league coach. As JL Plumbing & Heating he provided personalized services for over 40 years to the Catskill region. Everyone who knew him knew he was an avid sportsman, loved riding his motorcycle, enjoyed boating, scuba diving and although he was terrified of flying, he went sky diving and loved it. Jim truly loved the community and the community loved him.
A memorial service will be held at the Treadwell United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:00 am with a reception following at the Treadwell Fire House.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Treadwell Fire Department or the Treadwell United Methodist Church.
