Fred G. Sullivan, Jr., 82, of Rochester, NH passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 11, 2023 surrounded by family at his granddaughter and grandson-in-law’s home he shared with them for the last year, Samantha and Liam Jaquish and their children, Ryker and Jade.
He was born June 24, 1940 in Oneonta the son of the late Frederick G. and Margaret (Masker) Sullivan, Sr.
At age 16, Fred graduated from Laurens Central School the Class of 1957.
In April 1958, Fred enlisted in the US Marine Corp. and was honorably discharged.
Fred was an over the road truck driver for 45 years, driving all over the US.
In the warmer months he would spend his time at his camp on Cayuga Lake where he spent most of his days fishing and the other time was spend in Woodlands, TX. He enjoyed playing the dancing drums with his free plays at the Casino, watching his grandchildren play sports, quad and motocross racing and watching the NY Yankees. But what brought him the greatest joy was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Fred was proud of his sobriety since June 4, 1994.
Fred is survived by his children, Mooch and Shawn Olive, Woodlands, TX, Fred and Mollie Sullivan, III, Otego, Shelly and Bill Shafer, East Worcester and Lisa Vroman and Cal Farmer, Unadilla; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way; his sister-in-law, Rose Sullivan. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin; granddaughter, Stacey; sister, June; brother, Chuck; and the mother of his children, Priscilla L. Sullivan.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone VNA Hospice, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867.
