

She was born in 1931 to Wentworth and Dorothy Williams and grew up in Groton, Massachusetts. She was a member of The Northfield School for Girls class of 1950. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree from Columbia University.
She spent her early teaching career at the Sidney Lanier Junior/Senior High School in San Antonio, Texas. She was best known as a teacher in the Speech and Theatre Department at SUCO for over 35 years and an ardent supporter of the SUCO basketball teams.
Billie was a charter member of the Catskill Choral Society serving in numerous leadership positions over the years. She was perhaps most noted as coordinating The Grand and Glorious Garage Sale for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Fred; her brother Dr. Wentworth Williams, of Gloucester; her son Chris Miller and by his wife Michelle of Oneonta; her daughter Amy Rider and her husband Bill of Vermont.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Kate Miller, Mary Stewart, Colleen Stewart, Christopher Blemur, and Hannah Rider, and her cherished nieces Victoria and Elizabeth Williams.
Billie will be remembered for her love of music, her organizational skills, and her inner strength.
There will be a gathering for friends and family on February 18, 2012 from 2-5 at the Heritage Village building located at The Plains at Parish Homestead in Oneonta.
