She was born April 3, 1931 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Rosetta) Marino. She married Enio F. Colone on November 5, 1950. He predeceased her on March 14, 2015.
Dolores was a dedicated employee of New York Telephone, retiring after 25 years. She was like a mother to everyone there and was actively involved in the telephone company Pioneers.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, a charter member of the Sixth Ward Athletic Club, where she enjoyed playing cards with her special friends every Thursday.
Dolores loved to play Bingo and was an avid and accomplished bowler.
She is survived by her 4 children, Eva Colone of Oneonta, James Colone and special partner Christine of Herkimer, Karl Colone and his special partner Celeste of Oneonta; and Joseph Colone of Oneonta; her grandchildren, Scott, Stephen (Christina), and Kevin (Christy) Comstock, Amy (Christopher) Clancy, Joseph (Laura) Colone, Adam (Sarah) Colone, Francis and Gavin Colone, and Karl and Christopher Colone; her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron, Cate, Liam, Lucia, Anthony, and Sophia.
She is also survived by her brother, Albert (Peggy) Marino of Oneonta; her sister, Veronica Marino of Focus Rehabilitation; her sister-in-law, Janice Marino of Syracuse; her great aunt, Margaret Matthews of Oneonta and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brothers, Karl, Ralph, Paulie, Ronald, Frank and Thomas; her sisters, Anne, Dolly and Mary.
A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Oneonta with the Rev. David Mickiewicz, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta.
