I knew Dennis from the time I was a toddler. He and my parents were close friends, and I spent many hours at his place over the years while coming of age. Some months back he came to my mind strongly, and I was reflecting on how he played a significant role in my development as an individual. In fact I sent him a thank you letter for being such a positive influence. He usually had patience with my barrage of questions when I was quite little, and his prolific creative expressions impacted my mind as I grew up in ways that were likely highly beneficial for a life that demands creative problem solving approaches.
His warm and upbeat nature was something I really enjoyed being around. Having a rich sense of humor-- & a steady, articulate personality, he helped me see that these traits need not be at odds. His talents as a builder were impressive, and I enjoyed the sauna he made as well as his first home and many works of art quite keenly--perhaps living off grid with my family for over 15 years (installing our own solar, batteries, etc. and building many custom structures) was made possible in part thanks to seeing people like Dennis make such accomplishments look rather straight forward. While we all have our flaws, I am grateful that folks such as Dennis have impacted this world so positively, in spite of the pain I know he and many have nevertheless carried within. My deep condolences to his family and friends.





With the passing of DENNIS STAHL, the community of Gilbertsville, New York has lost a wonderful man.
Dennis was a very creative artist, and generous in his offering opportunities to many local artists to exhibit their work at his many open house events.
He will certainly be missed.
