Calvin W. Haney

He was born on July 30, 1942 in Franklin the son of Calvin and Doris (Bennett) Haney. He attended Otego School.

Calvin was a carpenter and loved to create with his hands.

He married Carol Phelps on October 13, 1961. Carol predeceased Calvin on May 29, 1996.

On June 17, 2000, Calvin married Susan Place. Sue and Cal loved to traverse the hills and dales of Otsego County in Cal’s 1973 blue and white Lincoln.

He loved his children and grandchildren and having family get togethers.

He enjoyed the outdoors and farming.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Susan; daughter, Julie Boise and husband, Michael, son, Barry Haney and wife, Danielle and daughter, Gerrie Gracey and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Calvin, Payton, Pierce, Jack, Ryan, Abigail and Lillian; brothers, Donald and wife, Donna and Ken and his wife, Wendy; sisters, Barb Goble and husband, Art and Joan Packer and husband, Wayne; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Shawna Leigh Boise on December 14, 1992; brothers, Ed and David; mother and father, Doris and Calvin Haney.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00pm with the Reverend Don Yarborough officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Unadilla. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Calvin to the American Cancer Society, Southern New York Region, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, New York 13790 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
