RIP Mr. Lind.  I have so many fond memories of you from my time in Deca.  It was your kindness and encouragement that helped me decide to pursue a degree in marketing.  You were always there for all of us.  Grateful I decided to take your class in high school.  Thank you for your dedication to education.  You were an amazing role model and will be missed. 

Sending my condolences to the entire family. Mr Lind was my Decca teacher in 1974-75; He invested  his time in students who were willing to work hard and strive for their  goals . He enabled several of us to reach state and National Decca awards and offices . He helped many of us to develop a confidence that we could build on later in life . I will forever be greatful. 
I am saddened by his passing and pray for your entire family.

Paying tribute to Bill Lind is an important but immensely difficult task in order to capture the very essence of who this great man was and all he accomplished as an amazing educator, mentor, and friend. I treasure the many times I was able to work with Bill during his time as marketing educator and DECA advisor at Millard South.  I first was able to witness the impact he had on his students when I was serving as the DECA Advisor at Cozad High School from 1975-1983.  To say that I was in awe of the professionalism and high standards he exemplified and engendered in his students would be an understatement.  I tried to model many of our chapter’s activities after those that Millard South created.

I then had the honor to work with Bill when I became Marketing Education Director and Nebraska State DECA Advisor in 1983.  Bill set the bar for excellence in the classroom, in all the DECA activities his chapter engaged in each year, in the countless community service projects they planned and brought to fruition, and the number of district, state, and DECA International Career Development Conference.  I would be amazed if anyone could possibly match his number of winners.  He also had many DECA members run for state DECA office.  It was a given that they could be counted on to have the highest ethical standards, tremendous work ethic, and willingness to do whatever it took to serve the members across the entire state. I LOVED having Millard South state officers because they helped create a solid foundation for every team on which they served.  Also, members of his chapter returned year after year to assist with conducting the State Career Development Conference, even giving up their vacation time to assist at the International Career Development Conference.  

Bill, I valued you as a true friend, caring mentor, and the model of a servant leader.  Rest in Peace.

Bill was a treasured colleague of mine for the three decades we were at Millard High/Millard South. His success with the Merchandising & Marketing course and the DECA program is known throughout the state, and beyond. In about 2000 Bill became an important volunteer and officer in the incorporation of the MHS/MSHA Hall of Fame and his counsel was important to getting the first high school HOF in MPS off the ground.  He was our treasurer and served as the emcee at several of our induction ceremonies.  His overall willingness to take on extra volunteer opportunities and the successes in his classroom have been important in the strong reputation of our school's  programs.

Mr. Lind was a great man of integrity and a great mentor.
 He was always willing to listen and help. 
 I was lucky enough to have had him as a home room advisor and DECA leader in high school.
 I learned a great deal from him that is still helping me today.

He did it for all the right reasons and had a major impact on so many of us.

He will be missed but not forgotten.

Mr. Lind was my DECA teacher at Millard. 
He was also my greatest mentor. 
Thanks to him and his expertise, together we put together a manual that won Nationals in 1978.  Silly little ad campaign that featured a droid, filled with peanut butter,  called R2D2.
I took all the business knowledge that he had so graciously taught me into the working world when I graduated. 
I hope that my successful career in Sales /Marketing made him proud!
I also hope that he knows how many young lives he touched and inspired!!!
I'm SURE that I am just one of MANY!

Mr Lind (or Bill to colleagues) mentored many a young Marketing teacher not just in Millard Public Schools but throughout Nebraska and beyond.  Bill’s expertise went beyond Millard South’s DECA program.  He truly prepared students for the business world.  He loved learning of his students achievements. His students were formidable competitors both at local, state and national competitions.   He will truly be missed.  My deepest sympathy to his family.


Endless laughs in the Business Office at Millard South will always be remembered with love. Thank you for the guidance, encouragement, and support, Mr. Lind. How very much you were loved. 

A great educator, someone I always looked up to. You will be missed by many, but your "kids" will show up in droves to say goodbye. Which is the greatest honor a teacher can receive. My condolences to your family.
