Dr. Simon was the best professor and friend ever. He believed in me and encouraged me when he was mentoring my master's thesis in KSU. As an international student who had obstacle in expressing in English, Dr. Simon never gave me up and made my two year graduate life wonderful and meaningful. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Simon Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences. I knew Todd when he was the Head of Journalism department at Kansas State. Todd believed in me when I first met him and offered me assistantship that helped me through my two graduate degrees at Kansas State.  He was great inspiration and a strong guiding force during my stint at K State and will be missed dearly.

Judy & I remember Todd's wedding day and all the hair he lost.  It is so sad to lose a relative so young.  The Simon family has our sincere condolences.  Cousins: The Milkes

I am so sorry for your loss. Todd and I go way back to our early teaching days at UNO. We kept in touch for a time. I was also friends with Ray, who was in grad school with me. And of course, I met Bernie on several occasions. The Simons are a wonderful family. This is a great loss to you, I know.  I  mourn your loss and send my prayers.

Dear Simon Family,
Long ago, Todd graced our home with his lively mind and wry wit. Being a very young girl, at the time, I remember Todd and my brother solving the world's problems at our dinner table, in their army jackets. Later, as a young college student, I had the honor to work with Stacy at Baker's. Please know that your entire family is in my prayers during this difficult time. Todd was a wonderful and adventurous friend. We became long-standing friends and collaborators together at such an early age, and continued in precocious activities from as early as fifth grade, from writing skits and public stories to, in high school years, organizing business, publishing the school newspaper, and competing together in mathematics competitions.

We continued together at the university, where Todd once again distinguished himself among his peers in Journalism and other endeavors. He was a prolific and careful writer.

Todd was one of the most novel, creative, and hard-working people I have ever known. He accomplished whatever he set his mind to, and risked at an early age to achieve what lesser men would never attempt.

Equally at home discussing literature, contemporary music, politics, and gardening, Todd's first-rate mind also comprehended vast details of baseball knowledge. 

His sense of humor was as unique as the rest of his facile and agile mind, and he was a uniquely funny person. 

He was a great and trustworthy friend, and a person who made those around him better for knowing him.

During the formative years of my life, Todd was a wonderful friend and influence. Some part of me dies with his passing.

I can genuinely say I loved him, and mourn today with Geri, Betty, Curt, and Stacy in this loss.

I never considered this day of sorrow, I'm devastated by it, and I weep with you today.

When we were kids, Todd introduced me to the likes of Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney and a bunch of other talents that most people today have probably never heard of. He was a good friend and a smart and funny guy. I recall a Cub Scout softball game when Todd and I were in the outfield throwing dirt clods at each other when the other team was batting. His dad, Bernie, was coaching. When he saw us, he brought us in and lectured us about paying attention to the game. Said Todd, "Nobody ever hits the ball that far, anyway." Which was absolutely correct. That was one of the first times I saw that logical mind of his, but not the last. My best to his entire family.

Dr. Simon was a mentor and a friend. He believed in me when I was his GTA and inspired me in my teaching career. I enjoyed his classes. He will be missed. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will never forget meeting you, Todd, and the rest of the students from Holy Name who came to UNO to study Journalism.

Todd will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Todd's passing.  I will always remember him as being the Class of '69's smart and sassy president.  With prayers and sympathy.

I learned so much from Todd when he served as my mentor and adviser at Michigan State and later as my boss and mentor at Kansas State. A favorite quote I learned from Todd: "You can do less with less, but you can't do more with less." I will continue to miss my good friend as the years go by. You left us too soon, Todd. My thoughts and prayers are with Geri, Gail, Nora and all of Todd's family.
