Tisha June Haugen was born on July 31, 1975 in Omaha, Nebraska. Her doctors told her family on the day she was born, that she probably wouldn’t live for more than 24 hours. She was a true miracle, defying the odds and lived for over 46 years longer, until she passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2022 in Papillion, Nebraska.
Tisha attended Ralston Public Schools & graduated from Ralston High School in 1996. She enjoyed bowling. She participated in the Special Olympics for several years, winning numerous medals and trophies. You could always find Tisha with her favorite belonging, her Pound Puppy, Rover, or simply Dog, as she usually called him. Tisha loved spending time with her family including going to her nephews and nieces sporting events and school activities. She loved listening to, singing with and dancing to country music, and talking about her favorite artist, Tim McGraw. She was friendly to and would talk to everyone. Whether she told them, “You’re a sweetheart”, “You’re a babe”, her knock-knock joke, or by simply saying, “I love you”, she always made people smile. Although she loved hugs and kisses, Tisha could also be quite feisty and say a few not very nice words, but her family and friends knew it was always meant with love.
Tisha is preceded in death by her mother, Marcia Haugen, her step-father, Ron “Big Butch” Martin, whom she usually either called Dear or Old Man, her grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her siblings and their spouses/significant others- Teresa (Gregg) Oberg of Garland, TX, Terry (Lynn) Haugen of Bellevue, NE, Tami (Jeff) Miller of Omaha, NE, Joe (Vicki) Haugen of Elkhorn, NE, and Ted (Becky Albrecht) Haugen of Bellevue, NE; aunts – Bert Highshoe and Icy Heaton; uncle – Frank Paskach; special friends and caregivers – Jennifer Morgan and daughters, Ella and Lydia and Charlene Reyes; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Throughout the years, Tisha had many people involved in her care. Her family would like to extend a very special, heart-felt Thank You to everyone who helped by keeping her safe, healthy and happy. She loved you all very much!
