Shirley Ann Schroeder was born on May 23th, 1947. Her parents, Ed and Clarice welcomed her to the world on a snowy day. She enjoyed a typical upbringing for a farming family in Minnesota. Shirley was the youngest of three children and grew up with her brother Meryl and sister Janice. As a young girl she fell and injured her jaw resulting in crooked teeth. Teased and called names for her smile she would later in life replace many of them. She graduated from Floodwood high school while her bother was in the navy. Shirley moved to Omaha where she attended Grace College. As a youch woman she expereince another challenge, but this time the result was different. In early 1972 while at the Gospel Missionary Tabernacle church she evacuated with the congregation to the tornado shelter. It was here that she met Loy Munderloh. They were soon married at Temple Baptist Church in Duluth, MN.
Shirley and Loy were married on April 7th 1972, and were later blessed with three sons, Tim, Kevin, and Brian. As a mother of three young children she worked as a grocery cashier and would later complete secretary school. Called to a ministry of music she wrote many songs given to her by the Holy Spirit. She felt called to provide guidance and comfort to hurting souls. She sang one of these songs titled, “Don’t Stop a Beating Heart”, at the National March for Life in Washington DC. Many mothers shared that this song and Shirley’s testimony gave them the faith and courage to choose life for their unborn children. Together as a family Shirley, Loy, and her boys, became known as the “Revived Five” and shared her music, puppet skits, and gospel sermons in many churches and events. Together with her husband they established “Preferred Cleaning”, a house cleaning company that served a small group of faithful and caring families. Shirley supported her husband in sickness and health, saying goodbye to Loy on July 24th 2004. Their strong faith and family values left their child and the other people they touched a foundation of faith and encouragement in the Lord.
Shirley and Bernie first met at Living Faith Church while they were both still married. As God called their spouses home they found a new friendship and love. Shirley and Bernie were married in Nov 28th 2006. Bernie had a way to make Shirley laugh and they enjoyed life to the fullest. Mom and Bernie loved to garden together, to eat out and be with family. A goodnight kiss was how she loved to go bed. Shirley and Bernie would often sing together and their home was full of praises to God. Shirley said good bye to Bernie in 2022 and has now been reunited with both of the godly and loving men God placed in her life. We miss them all. May her song and praises forever be in heaven!
