With a wonderful and love filled home, tragedy struck and So young and unable to understand;
only made to endure was the loss of his sisters Dawn and Nicole(1978 1984,respectively).
While these major losses likely played a large part in his life, youth, into adulthood. He was
quick to find a love in life. “Sports.” Whether it be tee-ball to baseball or kickball to Football. Shawn was already an accomplished athlete... yet claiming more and more memories for himself and all who loved him, Shawn helped bring his football team to State Playoffs. A feat that has yet to be duplicated... This is all while still a highschooler. After graduation, Shawn moved more over into boxing. So much so that he won Midwest Golden Gloves in 1998. All of these important parts of his life and who he was going to be. Such an incredible man, of course he found peace in climbing Longs Peak several times, over and over. Along with finding peace in nature, it was also a personal passion and a wonderful way to challenge himself.
Shawn also found love and joy in his children. Beginning his family with Jordan-born in 1996. Shawn and his wife Chrystal, together fostered a lovely girl named Samantha.
Shawn was so blessed that he found a life where later he was able to bring two more amazing children into his life. Shem and Shawn Jr. Shawn began working at Casa de Oro in Omaha, NE. After some time an opportunity came along leading him to a job in Colorado, fairly close to those mountains he loved climbing... Then on to St. Louis and finally as things would have it. He found a position in a place that truly felt like a family. Thankfully this family had met him with open arms. . . .From the Jones's family to the Tyson Family. We appreciate you more than any words could describe. Extending your family to include one of ours. We know Shawn will be missed by many, Jeffrey, Jonathan, T.j., Lloyd, and Shane to mention a few. Thank you so, so much.
