Omaha. Beloved husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, he loved spending time with his wife and family at his property near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. He retired in 1983 as a Sergeant from the Omaha Police Department after a 32 year career. Robert was a member of Presbyterian Church of the Cross. He was past Master of Covert Lodge #11 and a member of Scottish Rite. He died at home surrounded by his family.
Preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Robert and Anna Thorson, Robert is survived by his wife Joan Thorson, Daughter and Son in law Patricia and Randy Hindman of Villisca, IA, Sons and Daughter in laws Robert and Annette Thorson of Wahoo, NE, and Don and Teresa Thorson of Omaha. Robert had nine Grand Children and four Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Eleanor (Tom) Byrnes of Loveland, CO.
Visitation with family will be from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, including a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 pm, at Crosby Kunold, 11902 W. Center Road. Funeral service will be at Presbyterian Church of Cross, 1517 S. 114th Street, on Friday at 11am with the interment following at Evergreen Cemetery.
