Peggy was a much beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was involved at First Central Congregational Church for many years as Christian Education Director. Peg and her husband, Tom lived a very happy family and fun-filled life. Moving to Izard Street in the 1960’s began their love affair with Omaha and Nebraska. Their tradition of spending summers at Archibald Lake, Wisconsin with their extended families, Kelly and Ken Moore, Percy and Geraldine Blount, was a highlight of every year. Berry picking, making jelly, fishing, friends and family filled her days with happiness. Peg’s artistic talent produced treasured paintings for her many family members. A good game of bridge was always in the making with Peggy. We will all miss the constant twinkle in her blue eyes and unbelievable, funny wit.
Peggy is survived by her children; three sons, two daughters and their spouses: Tom Jr. and Flory Blount of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Beverly and Gordon Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina; Martin and Sandra Blount of West Des Moines, Iowa; Cary and Gerald Sharkey of Omaha, Nebraska; John and Barbara Blount of Castle Rock, Colorado; ten grandchildren: Sam, Carly, Amanda, Marty, Ted, Hallie, Jerry, Tom, Jane, Sarah, and five great grandchildren.
