Owen Clyde Wengert ascended from our earthly plane on Presidents Day, February 19, 2024. His rich life was blessed with the love of many dear family members and friends. Owen loved music, books, baseball, laughter, history, theater, nature, adventures, buffalo, the United States, and, perhaps above all, a great conversation. He was a foodie and a friend to every fellow human.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Wengert, her husband, Pete Eckerman, and grandson, Rylan Eckerman — plus his fine feline companion, the beloved Luna. Owen was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Irene Wengert, and his brother, Neil Wengert.
A graveside service for Owen will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. Following the graveside service will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Hanscom Park United Methodist Church, 4444 Frances St., Omaha, NE 68105.
