Hi Sally and family!  My acquaintance with Swede and Sally goes back a long way. Since Swede was about 10 years older than me, that meant to me that Swede was one of my Idols when I was still in High School. The Covenant Church back then was blessed with a number of men who had just returned from Military Service to our country. And still in their prime, they were all pretty good athletes, Swede being one of them. The Covenant Church men played in the PCAA Softball league, and basketball league at Tech High. I was just a young kid in High School, and these guys would let me play on their team, and was I excited to be able to say that I played on the same team as those guys. I remember Swede as the Shortstop, and he was a good one. There were some years when our team won the church league, which made me even more proud of these special guys. I will always be grateful for my memories of Swede. Even in our older years, when I did not see him very often, I just know that we could have sat down and re-hashed some of those BIG games. Our father consider Swede to be a close friend and many of his Carpenter Paper stories would always include something about Swede.  We are sad to hear of his passing but we'll celebrate his life and be thinking of you In the coming days.

My heart is sooo very sad!  Merrill was such a sweet man who ALWAYS had a smile on his face and a joke to be told -- and his hugs made you feel like the most important person in the world!  This is truly one of those times where our loss is Heaven's gain!  I will miss you, "Uncle" Merrill!  Thanks for ALWAYS making me feel like another niece to you! When a person makes you feel better just by walking in, it is a beautiful thing.  Sally Scott and the whole Family, we are all sorry for the loss of Merrill a truly special person.
