Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Sister. Preceded in death by husband, Omaha Battalion Fire Chief John "Buddy" Wilcox; parents, Edward and Martha (Vanis) Shonka; and siblings, Edward and Lucille Shonka. Survived by sisters, Gladys Gillogly, Maxine "Poppy" Shonka, Mary Steinbach, and Rita Shepherd, all of Omaha, Bernice Hammann of Tuscumbia, MO, and Lorraine Orlando, Downingtown, PA; bro-ther-in-law Francis "Joe" Wilcox, Omaha; sister-in-law Rita Bissell, Council Bluffs, IA; sons, Michael Wilcox, Omaha, and Thomas (Natalie) Wilcox, St Louis, MO; daughters, Margaret "Peggy" (David) Koziel, Kathleen (David) Ponec, Theresa (Anthony) Ourada, and Mary Beth Wilcox, all of Omaha; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marty invested her life in her family as a homemaker. She loved gardening and singing in church choirs, and she celebrated the fact she was the great granddaughter of Czech immigrants to Butler County, NE.
VISITATION at the Funeral Home Tuesday 6-8pm, with ROSARY at 7pm. MEMORIAL MASS at 10:30am Wednesday at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church. Private Family Graveside Service will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Bellevue.
