Preceded in death by husband, Don Holmes; and parents, Al and Mary Noehren. Survived by children, David (Julie) Holmes, and Laura (Mike) Troy; grandchildren, Landon, Liam, and Levi; and many other family and friends.
In her younger years, Linda served as a registered nurse before settling down and raising her children as a stay at home mom. She enjoyed gardening and had a love of flowers, especially yellow roses, lilacs and hydrangeas. She loved watching medical dramas and Western shows, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and listening to country music. Linda delighted in baking and cooking, and her family fondly remembers her egg gravy, casseroles, and no-bake desserts. She entertained herself by playing games like May I, pinochle, and slot machines at the casino. To unwind, Linda was known to enjoy a Patron margarita or strawberry daiquiri.
Linda's family was the most important thing in her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Landon, Liam, and Levi, who called her "Gram Cracker." Linda was definitely a tough cookie; she was strong, smart, sarcastic, and very funny. She will be thoroughly missed by all who knew her.
