Kathy earned a teaching degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and taught music at various school districts in Nebraska. At age 40, she followed her dream of becoming a Methodist minister through St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. She served at multiple Methodist churches across Nebraska.
Preceded in death by parents, George and Helen Rice.
Survived by siblings, Barbara (Fred) Vanecek, David (Chris) Rice, and Steve (Kristi Rutledge) Rice; and nieces and nephews, Adam Rice, Mandy Rice, Nathan Rice, Spencer Rice, Aubri Rice, and Matthew Vanecek.
A memorial service for Kathy will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 12:30 PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church (5410 Corby Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68104), with luncheon preceding the service at 11:30 AM in the church fellowship hall.
