Jorge Alberto Calderon, nació en El Salvador el 11 de Abril de 1947; hijo mayor de Isidro Recinos y Julia Calderon. Jorge era conocido como “Chepito” para la mayoria de la familia y amigos. Jorge fue un hombre dedicado a su familia y a la iglesia; era miembro activo de la Iglesia Católica San pedro y pertenecía a la congregación Siervos de Cristo Vivo; asistiendo a retiros espirituales y asambleas mantuvo su fe hasta el ultimo día de su vida.
Jorge dedico su vida a su familia; trabajando como agricultor y sirviendo en la defensa civil cantonal en su país; después, de sus tíos Julian Calderon y Silverio Aleman, aprendio diferentes oficios relacionados a la construcción y asi trabajo por muchos años. Como muchos Salvadoreños, en 1986 Chepito se movio a los Estados Unidos en busca de una mejor vida, no solo para el mismo, sino tambien para su familia, despues de trabajar duro y servir a su país y no poder proveer lo suficiente para su familia, emprendió su camino a este país y trabajo durante 36 años hasta el último día. Jorge era esa mano amiga con la que todos podian contar, siempre dispuesto a ayudar en todo lo que le era posible incluso despues de su partida; era su deseo ser donante de organos y con eso hiso su ultima y mas grande demostracion de amor al prójimo y su falta de egoísmo.
Le sobreviven su esposa, casados durante 50 años, Blanca Calderon; sus hijos: Elsa, Lupe, Antonio, Jorge, Isidro, Manuel y Pablo; 15 nietos, 1 bisnieta; y hermanos: Rosa, Tona, Clara, Raimundo y Jose Angel.
Jorge no solo permanecera en nuestros recuerdos, sino tambien en cada obra creada por el, en el jardin que el cuidaba con tanto amor, en las historias que muchos tuvimos el placer de escuchar, en las aventuras y tristesas compartidas, en sus ensenanzas, y por sobre todo permanecera con amor en nuestros corazones para siempre.
Jorge Alberto Calderón, was born in El Salvador on April 11, 1947; eldest son of Isidro Recinos and Julia Calderón. Jorge was known as “Chepito” to most of his family and friends. Jorge was a man dedicated to his family and to the church; he was an active member of the San Pedro Catholic Church and belonged to the Siervos de Cristo Vivo congregation; attending spiritual retreats and assemblies maintained his faith until the last day of his life.
Jorge dedicated his life to his family; working as a farmer and serving in the cantonal civil defense in his country. Later, from his uncles Julian Calderon and Silverio Aleman, he learned different trades related to construction and worked like that for many years. Like many Salvadorans, in 1986 Chepito moved to the United States in search of a better life, not only for himself, but also for his family, after working hard and serving his country and not being able to provide enough for his family he made his way to this country and worked for 36 years until the last day. Jorge was that friendly hand that everyone could count on, always willing to help in any way possible even after his departure. It was his desire to be an organ donor and with that he made his last and greatest demonstration of love for others and his selflessness
He is survived by his wife, married for 50 years, Blanca Calderon; their children: Elsa, Lupe, Antonio, Jorge, Isidro, Manuel and Pablo; 15 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; and siblings: Rosa, Tona, Clara, Raimundo and Jose Angel.
Jorge not only remains in our memories, but also in each piece of work created by him, in the garden that he cared for with so much love, in the stories that many of us had the pleasure of hearing, in the shared adventures and sorrows, in his teachings, and above all, he will remain with love in our hearts forever.
A visitation for Jorge will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
