Holmon, James "Jim" James "Jim" Holmon was born December 19, 1934, in Indianola, MS to Spellman and Annie (Davis) Holmon. He was raised in East St. Louis, IL. James is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Johnnie (Albert) Holmon; four children, James Vince Holmon and wife Sandra of Omaha, Kristi Kuhn and husband Gerald Michael Kuhn of Omaha, Craig Holmon and wife Stacy of Omaha; and step-daughter Toni Thomas of Fayetteville, NC; siblings, Elease Howard Holmon, and twin John Holmon and wife Mildred; six grandchildren; six great grand children; one great-great grandchild. James was employed by Douglas County Youth Center and then worked his way into management with United A.G. Foods where he retired in 1991. James' vocal talents were heard as he directed the Allen Chapel AME Youth Choir and as he sang in the musical ensembles "Echoes of Melody" and the "Candlelight Singers". He was an active member of the St. Mark Baptist Church Male Choir. James suffered from congestive heart disease. He fought a courageous battle without complaint and kept his faith in his Lord, who called him Home on July 21, 2014 to be without pain and suffering.
A HOMEGOING CELEBRATION SERVICE will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at St. Mark Baptist Church in Omaha, NE at 1pm viewing will begin at 12pm at the church. Memorials and Condolences sent to 3629 Saratoga Street, Omaha, NE 68111.
