Howard Paul Wagner

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruthie; parents, Matilda Jeanette and Royal Wilton Wagner; sisters, Charlotte and Vivian; and brother, Bob.

Survived by sons, Leonard (Jackie), Kenneth (Margie) and Darryl Wagner; grandchildren, Jimm, Sarah, Rene, Calais, Acacia, Jeremy, Shaina, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Cora, William, Sylvie, Harper, Salvatore, Remi, Jovie, and Martin; cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many other family and friends.

Howard was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and, after serving his country in the Army, moved to Omaha and was wed to Ruth. Together they raised their three sons. Always the devoted husband and father, Howard worked as a heavy truck mechanic and rose through the ranks to become general manager of Four T Service. Although not formally educated as such, he was an expert craftsman and a naturally gifted engineer with a passion for motorcycles which began in his teenage years.

More than a hobby, Howard’s love of vintage bikes (Indian motorcycles in particular) led to his producing many restoration masterpieces and developing a global following and numerous close friends.

Howard’s faith and devotion to God have been constant and abiding through his life. He not only professed Christianity but lived it day in and day out through his actions, commitment to his family and church, and connection to his fellow congregation members and friends.

A visitation for Howard will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home. The funeral service will be live-streamed via westlawnhillcrest.com for those unable to join.

Howard will be laid to rest in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, with light lunch to follow.
