Herbert Rubin, son of Edward and Bessie Rubin, born in New York City, NY. Preceeded in death by parents; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Lois. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A veteran of WW II and graduate of UCLA. He loved to fish and hunt. He worked at VA Hospital and at UNMC for a total of 40 years. One accomplishment he was proud of was starting the first special needs Cub Scout Pack in the nation. He is loved and admired by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rita (Hrbek); children: David (Lori Oswalt) of Anderson, SC; Thomas (Catherine) of Albuquerque, NM; Daniel (Elizabeth) of Plattsmouth, NE; Ronald (K.C. Halpine) of Omaha, NE; and Betty (Nancy Poma) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Nicholas, Samuel, Alexander, Joshua, Andrew, Catherine, Edward, Jennifer, Jack, Margaret; great-grandchildren: Theodore and Clara; and many loving nieces and nephews.
