His formative education years began at Lake/Conestoga Elementary Schools, Horace Mann/McMillan Middle Schools, and he graduated from North High School, here in Omaha.
Freddie was employed at Pettit’s Pastry in his teen years. After marriage, he worked at Fruehauf Wielding and eventually started his own entrepreneur ventures. Freddie owned a photography business, a lawn service, and a building construction organization. His successful business endeavors included F & J's Lawn services, J.R. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Father Brown, Sr., his wife of 44 years, Jacquelynne, his two sons Freddie III and Jason, six grandchildren, Cason, Jalen, Jada, Freddie IV, Jason Jr, Ja’Marcus and a host of other beloved relatives. Surviving siblings include Freddie Jean Shelton, Edward Brown, and Georgia/Charles Ford. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Marie Brown, his brothers, Earnest Lee, Richard Rodney, Raymond, and his sister, June Rose Brown.
Freddie loved entertaining and looking out for ways to brighten the day of others. He loved helping people, he liked giving flowers to show his concern, while always modeling his giving spirit. This was also realized in his mentoring relationships with the youth in this area picking them up, taking them to games, and returning them home afterwards. He truly loved his family, community, and friends. We will miss his giving spirit and genuine love for all he encountered.
A visitation for Freddie will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church, 3131 Lake Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68111, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
