Frank T. Rehmeier, age 95, of La Vista, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Frank was born on September 17th, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was one of two sons adopted by Simon and Marie Rehmeier of Alvo, Nebraska.
Frank grew up in Alvo, Nebraska until his father passed away in 1940, after which his mother moved him along with his brother Fred, to Omaha, Nebraska where he graduated from Central High School. During high school, Frank worked at a small, local drug store after school and on weekends to help his mother pay the bills.
Upon graduation from Central High School, Frank enlisted in the National Guard to serve our country stateside during the Korean war. He was a cook in the army and would prepare meals for 100s of people. He met Beverly Thomas on a blind date, and they were later married on May 25, 1957.
Frank was a Glazier by trade and worked for City Glass Company, installing glass products for over 40 years on some of their largest projects around the Omaha area. When he retired from glazing, he worked part-time as a handyman as he could fix or install almost anything.
Frank was a dedicated man, making lifelong friends in the Benson and Ralston neighborhoods where he and Beverly spent their life together. He was involved in the community with his volunteer work at Bergan Mercy Hospital and as a ranger at Eagle Run Golf Course. He loved golf and was an avid golfer, hitting the links at least two times a week with his beloved golfing buddies. These men and their spouses remained lifelong friends, even after Frank could no longer swing a club.
Frank was an excellent example for his family of what it looks like to have a strong faith in God. He made sure to spend time in prayer and do his devotions every single day. Frank went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024, surrounded by his wife and three children. He was preceded in death by parents, Simon and Marie Rehmeier; his beloved aunt, Julianne Taylor; brother, Fred Rehmeier; and other precious relatives and friends. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Rehmeier, to whom he was married for almost 67 years; daughters, Julie Rehmeier-Aylward and Cari Rehmeier; son, John Rehmeier and his wife, Laurie Rehmeier; and his grandchildren, Beth and her husband Kiley VandenBurg, Tyler Rehmeier, Kyle Rehmeier, Hannah Rehmeier and Geanina Rehmeier.
A visitation for Frank will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St Gerald Catholic Church, 9602 Q St, Ralston, Nebraska 68127, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM.
