Preceded in death by father, Romeo; and mother, Dorothy. Survived by son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Mary; and grandson Hayden.
Don served in the US Army for several years during the war and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his tour. After the military, he began his new occupation as a printing press operator. After decades of working at a job he enjoyed, he was forced to retire for health reasons.
In the mid 80’s, Don relocated to Texas, living in a few cities before moving to Bastrop and living therefor several years. He enjoyed new friendships at the senior center and was an avid card player. In October 2020 the decision was made to move back to Nebraska with his family after the doctors gave him months to live. During the final months, he enjoyed reading western novels, watching westerns on TV, and going to the casino whenever possible. He never met a stranger and was able to strike up a conversation with anyone and usually had them laughing within moments of meeting. He is loved and will be missed greatly.
