Always enjoyed Dave's visit to the dealership.  He would always stop in onSaturdays and bring something for Brittany.   Our family and Dave kept in touch after we moved.  Definitely respect his service and will miss our visits.

Dave Spry was a United States Marine and survived the siege at Khe Sanh, Vietnam - which was as close to hell as any human on earth can get.  We who made it home - did so ONLY by the grace of God and the work of His guardian angels.  (Hebrews 1:14)

But - for many of us - when we left that war - the impact of those experiences did not leave us.

While some thought we were hard to live with - it was often even more difficult for some of us to live with ourselves.

Though it is the inevitable destiny of all mankind - many fear death.  Yet - for we that have finally surrendered to God - death is not a gruesome end - but rather a wonderful passage into His eternal presence.

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many rooms.  If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also."  John 14:1-3

It was my good fortune to serve with Dave in Viet Nam in 1967 and 1968 and he was a good Marine in every sense; he did his job and did it well, he was always there for any of us who needed a hand.  We lost touch after our tours ended, but reconnected @ a reunion in Washington, D. C. twenty five (25) years later.  Since 1993, Dave and I stayed in contact and became good friendswe helped each other in dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), then we used the knowledge we gained to help others in their dealings with the VA.  While his passion was veterans, Dave did his very best for anyone and everyone he could.  He lived a full and rewarding life, doing what he thought was right, making mistakes like we all do since we're human, learning from those mistakes, then passing the lessons he learned on to others.  He served as an example and I will forever treasure his friendship.  May an all-knowing, all-loving, all-forgiving God bless and keep Dave; may he wrap him in his loving arms and hold him next to his breast for all eternity.  ~~  Semper Fidelis!!!
