What a wonderful service today for a great man; thank you for letting us be a part of it.  David Michael was a awesome man, who did wonderful things for his family and his country.  We are all better people for knowing him and having him share his life's journeys with us.  You, Sir, will be missed by many.

I hired David to be a diesel mechanic on City of Omaha Dredge the Beaver.  We dug the lake at NP Dodge Park, then the Chain of Lakes in Council Bluffs, when finished we sold the dredge and David went to work for Public Works.  He was one of my best employees that ever worked for me.  He will certainly be missed. I have been retired as a city employee for 20 years.  Omar Kauffeld, Garfield, Arkansas

Dave was a great man who taught me many things.  He cared about everyone he met. After he retired, when we would talk about work, he always ended the conversation with “Take care of the guys in the shop.”

I'm so very sorry for your loss, especially at this time of year.  I retired from Public Works this past July, after 22 years, and knew Dave from work.  I thought he was a very nice man.  I know he will be greatly missed.

I worked with Dave for many years at the City and hardly a day went by that we didn’t talk.  We never had a conversation where we didn’t laugh with each other about the job or things that were happening in our lives.  
Dave was proud of his family and when he spoke of family he always wore that smile that those who knew him are so familiar with.  Dave was a family man first and foremost, a gentleman, a friend, and a true patriot.  I will forever miss his humor, smile and laughter.

Our family is so very sorry for your family's loss.  Dave was a man who always greeted us with a smile, a laugh and usually a good joke!  He lived life with gusto and anyone could see how much love and pride he felt for his family, you only had to spend a few moments with him to know that. I had the priviledge of working with Dave at the City of Omaha for many years. He was patient, kind, generous, a hard worker, and very proud of his family. I am so sorry for your loss.

My Love. You were the other half of my Soul, and when you left, a light went out in my world. You loved without reservation, protected without fear, and were unconditionally there for all of us, everyday in everyway. We were not perfect, but we were perfect together. Dave was a very close friend, mentor, brother in arms and in my eyes a true american hero. After spending 20 plus years serving in the Navy with Dave, he was truly the one from whom I learned the most. I have missed the 3 hr converstaions we had traveling to Kansas City every month. We were always talking about our families and he was so proud of his. He was always there for me and will be missed dearly. All our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of Mike.  Losing someone is never easy whether expected or unexpected.  I hope that you remember the happy times and times of laughter you have spent with Mike and hope that this provides comfort to you and your family.

I have so many wonderful memories of my Dad.  He was such a giving and caring person.  He'd stop whatever he was doing to help out one of us kids.  After he retired, his days consisted of caring for his grandchilden, often running them here and there.  He even started eatting at McDonald's, his least favorite fast food choice, just because that's where they wanted to go!  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He taught me many things.  But most of all, he set an example for me and my children.  He showed us everyday to stand up for what we thought was right, to always push ourselves a little further, and most importantly if it was worth doing it was worth doing right.  I'll miss all of our talks, your sense of humor, and your generousity.  And everyday when I see the freckles on my children's face, I'll smile and thank God he gave them freckles...they all have freckles just like Papa :)

We all have been blessed to have had Dave be part of our lives.  He loved his family and was a loyal friend to all.  Heaven is a better place because David North is there.  He is greatly missed.
