David Miller

Dave was preceded in death by father, John Miller; mother Zoe; stepfather Frank Scheich; brothers John and Kevin; sister Ellen; and sons David, Jeffery, and Steven.

Dave was survived by his loving wife of 53 years Mary; son Peter; daughter Marieanne; grandchildren, Diana, Jasmin, Kenny, Natascha, Tristan, Kyle, Madison, and Lily; great grandchildren, Payton, Reid, Liam, Aymen, and Liah.

Dave was born September 10, 1934 in Staten Island, New York where he resided there until joining the US Air Force. Dave skated in the roller derby for under a year right after high school. Dave completed his basic training at Air Force Base, New York. He completed his med tech training at San Antonio, Texas. He had two tours in Germany and was stationed in West Palm Beach, Florida and Moses Lake, Washington.

Dave served honorably in the US Air Force from 1954-1974 as a surgical tech. He was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany where he married Irene and had 3 children; Davey, Peter, and Marieanne.

He later transferred to Offutt Air Force Base, where he met his second wife Mary and they celebrated 53 years of marriage in March 2023. When Dave retired from the US Air Force, he worked for the US Post Office from 1974-1998. Dave enjoyed golfing and bowling throughout his adulthood. He was a lifelong NY Yankees fan.

After moving to Nebraska, he became a diehard Huskers fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. He had many fond memories of tailgating at Memorial Stadium, as well as football parties.

A visitation for David will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home & Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Monday, July 24, 2023 at 12:30 PM with military honors to follow at the Graveside at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
