Beverly J Steimer, age 79 of Omaha passed away February 19, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am at Crosby Burket Swanson Golden Funeral Home in Omaha, Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Committal will be in Blair, NE at the Blair Cemetery following Friday’s services.
Bev was born January 23, 1936 to Ward and Rose (McArdle) Gould in Omaha, NE. She grew up in Omaha with her sister Donna and graduated from Underwood High School. She then moved to a farm in Kennard, NE where she raised her 2 children Mary and Larry. She married the love of her life Bill, on March 23, 1984 in a small ceremony in Omaha where they would make their home. Bev was a country girl and she enjoyed playing guitar for friends and family and would even sang at the Red Barn Opry House in Omaha. She was an avid football fan and felt very passionately about her Huskers. Her and Bill enjoyed traveling especially to Canada at Totem Lodge where they spent time fishing. Her and Bill would travel to RV parks and spend their weekends camping, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. She always kept her flower gardens beautiful and full of life. Bev and Bill bought a 1962 Corvette and spent time with their friends at the Midwest Early Corvette Club. She also loved going to the Casinos and playing the slots hoping to hit it big one day. Bev was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren especially at the holidays. She cherished her dog Sheiba and loved spoiling her too. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her most. Her smile will forever remain in our hearts.
She is survived by husband Bill Steimer of Omaha, children, Mary (Bowen)Weaver,Arlington; Dan Steimer,Omaha; Pam (Steimer)Lay,Omaha; Sister Donna Cahill,Florida, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was joined in heaven by her parents Ward & Rose Gould and Son Larry Bowen.
