Betty was one of a kind. I worked with her for 11 years. We became friends and shared so many memories.  Many overtime hours at year end, going to lunch in the cafeteria or going to lunch at Senor Matias.  On our way back to work one day, I commented on a beautiful flowering tree and I wondered what kind of tree it was. She replied very sternly, "It's a tulip tree!"  We joked about that one often.
Another time, I had a tumble down the stairs at work on our way out to lunch. Once she knew I was okay, she laughed all through lunch and for the entire rest of the day. 
She talked about her family often and I knew all about her kids and grandkids. I even remembered most of their birthdays.  She was always amazed at that.
I was on a bowling league with her and Marge and we shared lots of laughs. 
She visited me at home after I had my children and brought me gifts. 
After she retired, we kept in touch by phone or met for lunch. It was always like no time had passed since our last visit. In recent years, I went to her new home for lunch. She loved her home and being close to family.
These are just a few of the many memories I have of Betty.  I feel very blessed to have known her. I will always cherish our friendship.

Tommy and Pam,
I'm so sorry for your loss.  I understand the pain of losing someone you love.  I also understand how fortunate you were to be raised by such wonderful parents.  Bob was the kindest man I ever met  - and alot of fun too!  Betty posessed that rare combination of strength and grace.  She was like a rock in a storm. No matter what was going on around her she stayed steady and true.  I feel grateful to have known both of them.
