Allen Dale Norris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on September 15, 2024. Born on October 23, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska, Al lived a life full of humor, generosity, and caring.
Al was raised in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha, alongside his mother, Daisy Janet, and three sisters, Linda, Bonnie, and Judy. He attended Benson High School and began working in the auto business shortly thereafter. Al met his wife Kim in Omaha, dancing to disco at Mother’s Bar, and they married in her hometown of Westphalia, Iowa on September 4, 1982. Their family grew with the birth of Andrew in 1986 and Ben in 1990.
Al worked as a car salesman, mechanic, and eventually an autoglass repair technician before retiring in 2018. He took pride in his work and enjoyed entertaining coworkers and customers with his colorful sense of humor. Outside of work and into retirement, Al enjoyed both watching and playing golf, building model cars, traveling, discovering new foods and restaurants, and being a loving peepaw to his three grandchildren.
Al is survived by his wife Kim (nee Gubbels); his sons, Andrew (and Catherine) and Ben; his sisters, Linda (and Sandy) Altheimer, Judy (and Dale) Steinhoefel, and Bonnie Leonard; as well as the many friends who will remember humor.
