He was the sixth of seven children; Ida May, Jimmy, Willie, Ruby, Sandra, and Brenda.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Izola, sisters Ida May and Sandra and brother Willie Bass.
He graduated from Central High School. He found his passion working for the Douglas County Department of Corrections where he worked for 38 years until he retired in April 2022.
Albert met the love of his life in 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska. They were married December 11, 1987. They just recently celebrated their 37th anniversary on a Caribbean Cruise. They had four children; Anthony (Isheea), Angela, Clarissa (Donald), and Chauntrece (George). He loved watching Pittsburgh Steelers and Oklahoma Sooners football. He enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and staying at home doing yard work.
Albert leaves to cherish his memory; wife Wanda Bass, son Anthony Bultez, daughters Angela Bultez, Clarissa Redick all of Omaha, and Chauntrece Bencker of Bondurant, Iowa; grandchildren Desiree’ Redick, Deshaun Torry, Keilan Redick, Nathan Johnson, Tre’lan Redick, Landon Bencker, Austin Bultez, and Carter Bencker; sisters Ruby Walton (LaDell) and Brenda Wansley all of Omaha; brother Jimmy Bass of Oakland, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and extended family.
A visitation for Albert will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Albert will be laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery, 7602 Military Ave., Omaha, NE 68134.
