James (Jim) A. Middleton 1941 – 2011. Jim Middleton passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the South Okanagan General Hospital, Oliver, B.C. at the age of 70 years. Cherished husband of Elaine for 45 years. Lovingly remembered by his children, Deborah Marlene Turner-Davis ( Tim), Leanne Delphia Frewin (Steve), Angela Marie Stuart (Kelly), Suzanne Colette Brown (Dereck), Douglas Phillip Middleton (Julie Bursey) and Aaron Arthur Middleton. Loving Papa to James Jonathan Middleton, Wesley Arthur Frewin, Marshal Gregory Frewin, Emily Shea Turner-Davis, Brendon Keil Brown, Karyn Ashley Frewin, Austin Arthur Turner-Davis, Chloe Elaine Peggy Turner-Davis, Jessica Alicia Bursey, Lily Elizabeth Middleton, Riley James Bursey and Nerys Kyla Stuart. Survived by brothers, Neville Middleton (Tish) and Frank Middleton (Lil) and sister May Smuland (Doug). Predeceased by his parents, John “Jack” Addington and Delphia Frances Middleton; sister, Betty Morrison and niece, Sherry Morrison. Jim was a Stationary Engineer with the Vancouver School Board and worked for the Town of Gibsons and Home Hardware for many years. For a time he owned and operated Big Sweeper Building Maintenance. Jim and Elaine have fond memories of their RV adventure across Canada and their recent cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. Jim was actively involved with his church and his community serving with the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree, Pro-Life, Elves Club, Boy Scout and Youth Group Leader, Board member of BCSS, Toastmasters and volunteered with the Gibsons Fire Department and BC Ambulance Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:30 o’clock followed by Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Osoyoos.
