William F. “Doc” Hudson, 73, of Byhalia, MS passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Barb Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Laura Herbst Hudson; daughter, Dawn Michelle Hudson; son, Jody Scott Hudson(Andrea); son, Jamie Hudson; grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathan, Mariah, Hope, Halle, Dakota, Drew, and Sierra; great-grandchildren: Blake, Liam, Aurora, and Benjamin; brothers, Thomas and Martin Hudson; and sister, Dellire Hudson. Mr. Hudson served our country in the US Army. After his military service, he obtained a PhD in electrical engineering which started his successful career. In his younger years, he started his own speaker company called PSU. He later worked for TRW where he worked developing O2 sensors for vehicles. After TRW he worked for Xolox in Ft. Wayne, IN developing sensors for automation. In his later years he did contract work for various companies in the medical industry including Medtronix, Smith & Nephew, Technicolor, and Carrier. He retired from Barry Wehmiller Design Group. In his free time, he enjoyed playing his guitar that he has had for 50 years with multiple bands. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 1-2 pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm where family and friends will have the opportunity to share their memories of Doc.
