Thomas Polk Avent, 90, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. Mr. Avent was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and was retired from MLGW. Mr. Avent is survived by his wife, Delsie Leathers Avent, four children, Barry Avent (Pam), Donna Mariechild (Ed Kimball), Lisa McLean (Chris), and Kevin Avent (Diane), ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1pm until the funeral service begins at 2pm, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Autumn Woods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broadway Baptist Church, 7400 Getwell Rd. Southaven, MS 38672.
