Robert Franklin (Bobby) Williams, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bobby was born on March 6, 1933, and was a lifelong resident of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
Bobby was the son of the late George Edward (Eddie) Williams and Maggie Doddridge Williams. Bobby graduated from Olive Branch High School in 1950, and worked on his family’s dairy farm. Bobby served in the United States Army for a period and returned home to continue working on the dairy farm until it closed. For a period of time, Bobby served as Olive Branch city manager and then retired from Ditch Witch in 1995. Upon the death of his father, Bobby was appointed to the Board of Directors of Northcentral Electric Power Association in 1972. Bobby served on the Northcentral Board for 43 years until he retired in 2015. Bobby enjoyed showing his dairy cows, fishing, working in his flower gardens, bird watching, and attending car shows in his restored 1949 Ford truck.
Bobby is survived by his sister Patricia Nichols, sons Robert (Sherry) Williams, Jr. and Barry (Kay) Williams, all of Olive Branch; grandchildren Jason Williams, Matt (Josie) Currie, Nick Pierce, Michael (Jamie) Meziere, Nicole (JC) Caldwell, Reed Williams and Mary Margaret Williams; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Pam Pierce; grandson Robert (Bobby) Williams, III.; his wife of 34 years, Eva Williams; and his brothers and sisters Margaret McIntosh, Lee Williams, Joe Williams, Steve Williams, Dot Munn and Edward Williams.
