Peggy Ann Ellis Parker, 76, of Byhalia, passed away November 12, 2013. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, November 14, and funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 15, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Emory Cemetery. Mrs. Parker retired from Carrier Corporation after 27 years as Brazier and Shop Steward. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and loved spending time in the outdoors. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Peggy had a heart of compassion and care for everyone around her. She freely gave of herself through her time and energy, and she will forever serve as the number one role model for her family and friends. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Lester and Clara Margaret Ellis; her brother, Wilbur Dean Ellis; and her daughter, Melissa Ann Nesmith. Peggy is survived by her husband of 37 years, James L. Parker; 5 daughters, Sherry Hunt (Robert), Peggy Annette Chandler, Janice Margaret Chandler (Randy), Frances Bass (Roger), and Tammy Spencer (Bo); 3 sons, Gary Hester (Debbie), Ronald E. Hester, and Clarence V. Gates, Jr.; her brother, Delbert Ellis (Margie); 19 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. A woman of faith and family, her greatest desire for those she loved is to remain strong in the Lord and live each day to the fullest.
