Paul Thomas Walton, Jr., 82, of Independence, MS went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14, 2022. Mr. Walton was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Brenda Sue Walton; grandson, Zachary John Walton; and sister, Betty Warren. He is survived by his daughter, Christianne Walton Jenkins; son, Paul Thomas Walton, III; grandchildren: Carl Jenkins, Jared Jenkins, Connor Jenkins (Elsa), Patrick Jenkins, Paul Thomas Walton, IV, Victoria Grace Orcutt (Stephen); and sister, Barbara Evanson. He followed in his father’s footsteps, who was killed in battle in 1944 at the end of WWII, and proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to work as a press foreman at Quevecor, retiring after 42 years. He and his wife bred champion weimaraners and Arabian horses. In his free time he enjoyed watching Tennessee Volunteer athletics, bush hogging his land, and riding trails with his son on four wheelers, and he was a 32nd Degree Master Mason. Mr. Walton was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5-7 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 also at Brantley Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
