Norma Forte Simon, age 91, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. She was born on March 22, 1934, in Memphis, TN, to Ernestine Warren and John Forte.
A devoted and faithful servant, Norma’s love for the Lord was evident throughout her life. She was an active member of Peace Tree United Methodist Church. Norma dedicated much of her career as an accountant, retiring from Malone & Hyde / Fleming after many years of service.
Beyond her professional achievements, Norma was deeply committed to helping others. She served as a long-time tutor with Memphis Literacy and as a mentor with Youth Villages, making a lasting impact on the lives of those she encountered.
Norma’s legacy of faith, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Henry Simon, Jr.; her parents, Ernestine and John Forte; her sister, Myra Jane Hampton; and her stepson, Bill Simon.
Norma leaves behind her daughter, Chris Pepple; her stepdaughter, Terri Boon (Eddie), and her stepdaughter-in-law, Janice Simon. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: August Pepple, Caitlin Pepple, Carli Benson, Anna Jackson, Joey Simon, Will Boon, and nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norma's memory be made to Peace Tree United Methodist Church or Youth Villages.
A graveside service will occur on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM at Blocker Cemetery, 9501 Pigeon Roost Rd. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
